I grew up in New York City. In 1994 I received a BA in Photojournalism from a small, liberal arts school in Southern California. I lived in the Washington DC area for ten years before moving to Baltimore with my wife and son.

My journalism background lends itself to my spontaneous and relaxed style, and I've found that fitting-in with my surroundings and making sure my subjects are at ease are the keys to achieving that style.

I have also learned how important it is to keep my eyes open for the details in the day in order to capture the perspective that one may not have otherwise seen.
